Tourist Visa

To apply for your Tourist Visa follow same process just different documents

Passport valid 6 months before expiration and two blank visa pages

1 passport photos 2x2 for visa application

Each applicant must provide their flight itinerary.

If under 18 traveling alone a notarized letter of consent from parent or guardian.

Apply between the hours of 9:00am-11:00am M-F and pick up the next day between 12:00pm-1:00pm

We applied for our Missionary Visas in January of 2007. With the help of other missionaries, our applications were accepted the first time, and we received them within 5 business days.                       Here is what we needed at that present time. Note it may change at any time
 
      You can apply in person, mail, or by a third party. We applied in person. This information is for two adults, no children, applying in person at the Brazilian Consulate in Miami, FL. If you apply in person, you must go to the Brazilian Consulate pertaining to your region.

Here are the documents that you will need.
   
       From your sponsorship in Brazil.
    **If you are with BIMI, you must contact Dan Bennett in Brazil.
        He is the current President of BIMI Brazil
  • Constitutive minutes/ statute/ other official document pertaining to the goals /function of the sponsoring Brazilian religious or missionary organization.
  • Financial affidavit drawn at a Cartório (Notary Public) by the Brazilian religious or missionary organization assuming responsibility for applicant’s stay in Brazil as well as for applicant’s departure.
  • Please note that all copies of Brazilian supporting documents must be notarized by a Cartório (Notary Public) in Brazil.
      From each Applicant
  • Valid Passport (Must be valid 6 months prior to its expiration) Passport must have two blank visa pages
  • Two recent individual photos (Must be passport size 2"x2", Front View, Full Face,                Light Background). Any picture studio or some post offices do passport pictures                   ***The two pictures are for the two applications you will fill out.
  • Two visa application forms per person filled completely out and signed in the original.
  • State background checks for each person over 16 years old
  • Ordination Certificate or Ministry License and/or College Diploma **Man needs to have both license/certificate and diploma. Wife just needs diploma
  • Sealed envelope of school transcripts from college or institute
  • A detailed resume of ministry from each individual **Christian services in church and held positions. Signed and in the original.
  • Original Marriage license
  • Original Birth Certificate or official dependency document for spouse/children/dependents 
  • A signed statement from each individual pledging not to engage in any activity in indigenous areas without the proper authorization by the FUNAI (National Indian Foundation)
  • Copy of a health insurance valid in Brazil on behalf of the applicant.
  • Vaccine record if you have traveled within 90 days to countries known for Yellow Fever. Countries are listed at the consulate website
After your Missionary Visa Application is accepted, you will receive your Visas and original visa application within 5 business days to 3 months. Note: It is never to early to begin this process
 
You will then go next door to the Legalization Department. Here, you will get your ordination certificate/ministry license and diplomas legalized. Make copies of them and have the copies legalized. You will need these for when you arrive in Brazil to register with the Federal Police of Brazil.
Also bring your originals as backup
 
  • The fees paid must be in Postal Money Orders **Not banks or stores. You can purchase these beforehand or on the 22nd floor of the building
  • $70.00 fee for each applicant - Postal Money Order
  • $100.00 fee for Visas for each applicant - Postal Money Order
  • You must purchase a prepaid Express Mail Envelope for them to mail your visas back to you. You can get the envelope on the 22nd floor. Price not sure - Approx $17.00
  • Money Orders for when you get your copies legalized in the Legalization. Price not Sure

**Bring an extra $300 to purchase unexpected money orders**

When all was said and done we spent approx $600 total for both not counting Travel and Food
